Bike Week LA

We're smack dab in the middle of Bike Month, the National Bike Challenge is rolling strong, and this is the week that LA goes all-out to celebrate two-wheeled transpo in the city!

LA Metro rolled out their calendar of cycling events, with the crown jewel being Bike to Work Day on Thursday when swag-happy pit stops will pop up all over the city to hand out food, goodies, and cheer on all the folks making their rides into work.

Here's everything that's going down this week!

Monday May 15, 2017, 10am - Bike Week Kickoff at Union Station

It's too late to make it now, but this is the annual kickoff of Bike Week with a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Metro Bike Hub, speeches from city leaders and cycling advocates, and the beginning of the city's week long celebration!

Tuesday May 16, 2017, 8am - 9:30am - Blessing of the Bikes at Good Samaritan Hospital

Whatever your beliefs, you're welcome to roll through Good Samaritan Hospital and have your bike blessed for a boost of luck as we roll into the riding season! We won't try to quantify the results, but rumor has it the patron saint of avoiding flats is especially responsive this time of year. 

Wednesday May 17, 2017, 6:30pm - Ride of Silence from Noho Metro

Wednesday night we ride in silence to honor the memories of those we lost to traffic and to make the city recognize the bike community and our demands for safer streets. The Ride of Silence is a powerful experience and, despite the heavy subject matter, is always an uplifting look into the cohesiveness of the bike community and our willingness to come together for change.

Thursday May 18, 2017, Commute Hours - Bike to Work Day Pit Stops all over!

This is the big one! Pit stops will be popping up all over the city to provide encouragement, support, and swag for everyone making the effort to roll into work. We'll have our annual set-up out front of the Showroom at 7:30am, handing out exclusive goodies, grub (free tacos!), and giving riders a chance to meet and greet the crew that calls this place home. We can't wait to see you here!

Friday May 19, 2017, 6pm - 8pm - Handlebar Happy Hour at the Wheelhouse

And it all wraps up on Friday with Happy Hour at the Wheelhouse! Roll over to celebrate another week of amazing rides! Bring the whole crew to enjoy fresh food, bubbly brews, and meet the folks that make this community so awesome all year 'round.
