Upcoming Events!

It feels like every day this Summer has had a cycling event! Party rides, art shows, training rides, and races, there's been a bit of something for everyone and we're not slowing down now that August is rolling around. If you'll be in SoCal over the next few weeks, here's a couple that you won't want to miss.

Walk Bike Burbank Midnight Ramble Ride

This Saturday, August 1st, join Walk Bike Burbank right here at Pure Fix HQ for a midnight cruise through the moonlit streets of Burbank! The ride meets up at 10:30p, rolls out at 12, and will traipse for about 10 miles through the dark quiet streets of the city.

It should be a warm Summer night to share with friends, and if you show up early there'll be fresh tacos to fuel your late night food cravings.

Walk Bike Burbank is making this an annual event, so don't miss the inaugural ride or it'll be 12 months before you get another chance! Check out their site for a full breakdown on what to bring, what to expect, and how to get the most out of your time in the dark. We'll see you there.

And in less than 3 weeks...

Tracklandia!

The ladies of SWAT and the UCC (Union Cycliste Cosmique) will be hosting a night of racing at the Encino Velodrome to crown this galactic era's Universal Champion!

The benevolent interstellar overlords have seen fit this year to offer men's racing alongside the women's, so everyone can race for fun, prizes, and the glorious adoration of their home planets. If you're not velodrome certified yet, get on it, because there's not much time until race day and you won't want to be stuck on the sidelines when we blast off. (Actually, there'll be plenty of entertainment on the sidelines too, and if you're interested in attending or volunteering, you can do that right here).

The point is, be there or regret forever your apathy in the face of overwhelming universal opportunity - the choice is yours. Pre-pre-registration is open now, racing is Sunday, August 16th.

If you won't be in LA, that doesn't mean you're stuck inside. Pop into your local bike shop, hit those web forums, and check out the litter on your local bulletin boards - rides happen every day, all you have to do is get out there and find 'em!
